As Knitwear Buyer, you combine product knowledge with commercial buying skills, working with international suppliers on cost, quality, fit, timing and margin. Buyer Knitwear
Do you combine commercial buying experience with strong knowledge of knitwear? In this 40-hour role in the Amsterdam area, you will manage knitwear styles from sourcing and supplier selection through production and delivery. You will work with international suppliers and have direct influence on cost prices, margins, quality and delivery performance.

Your role as Buyer Knitwear
As Buyer Knitwear, you manage the buying process for a range of menswear knitwear, including sweaters, cardigans, pullovers and knitted polos.

You are involved throughout the product lifecycle. You assess which supplier best fits a style, negotiate prices and keep sampling, approvals and production on schedule. Throughout the process, you balance commercial targets with product quality, fit and reliable delivery.

You will work closely with colleagues in Product Development, Merchandising, Sales, Quality, Corporate Responsibility and Logistics.

Your main responsibilities are to:

• manage assigned knitwear styles from sourcing and supplier allocation through production and delivery;
• assess international suppliers on factors including capability, cost, quality, capacity, lead time and risk;
• negotiate cost prices, monitor margins and identify savings without compromising product quality or delivery;
• manage the critical path and follow up on samples, approvals, production milestones and potential delays;
• assess yarns, stitches, gauges, trims, fit, hand feel and construction while monitoring supplier performance and product data.

An important part of the role is identifying issues early. This may involve supplier capacity, production timing, quality, costs or materials. You make risks visible and work with suppliers and colleagues to find practical solutions.

Your workplace
You will join an international fashion organisation active in menswear. The working environment is informal and commercially focused, with short communication lines and room to take responsibility for your own work.

Within the Buying and Product teams, colleagues work closely together on product quality, supplier choices, cost prices and planning. Decisions are made relatively quickly, and employees are encouraged to suggest improvements.

The position is based in the Amsterdam area and is full-time for 40 hours per week.

What you bring
You enjoy working close to the product while keeping an eye on commercial results. You can discuss technical knitwear details with suppliers, but you are equally comfortable negotiating prices and managing deadlines.

For this position, you bring:

• several years of relevant experience in buying, sourcing or product development within fashion;
• knowledge of knitwear, including yarns, stitches, gauges, fit and construction;
• experience with international suppliers, costing, price negotiations and margin management;
• strong planning skills and experience managing several styles, suppliers and deadlines at the same time;
• a wholesale background and good professional communication skills in English.
• Experience with menswear knitwear, fully fashioned knitwear or commercially driven menswear collections is an advantage.
