For a client in the fashion business based in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Sr. Manager Concepts & Design. The Team

The Global Store Design and Visual Experience department is responsible for providing consumers the most compelling store, SIS and showroom experience through concept design, visual merchandising and windows across all channels and markets. Working collaboratively with the APAC, Americas and EMEA regions, this central team delivers the strategy, concepts and tools needed for regional rollout. This team oversees the design and experience of physical consumer touchpoints including global retail & wholesale environments, working in close collaboration with the regional teams.

The Position

As Senior manager- Concept & Design, you are responsible for global store concepts working collaboratively with the wider team to develop Brand relevant consumer touchpoints. Key responsibilities include:

  • Devise interior, architectural & general design concepts for global retail, wholesale, and outlet environments, incl hospitality and potentially digital showrooms (physical environments).
  • Align the design of creative elements with the new concept visions, ensuring the Manager- Retail styling creates adequate guidelines.
  • Ensure concepts meet the assigned project’s functional and architectural requirements.
  • Create concept mood boards, overviews and 3D views for Leadership review, incl the detailing of interior/ exterior architectural & FF&E elements (in collaboration with your peers & the team’s designers).
  • Collaborate extensively with your peers to create a seamless partnership between concept, design and roll out entities & activities within the team and the organisation.
  • Lead concept related tasks & initiatives and collaborate with team members on all facets thereof.
  • Be the team’s main point person with regards to bespoke or new store concept- related enquiries, guide and support regional teams on the execution of specific projects as required.
  • Enable the creation of new concept guidelines (global and regional).


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments and demonstrates comfort with ambiguity, particularly during periods of transition. They will play a key role in helping shape the future of both the team and the new store concept. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential to ensure effective collaboration and alignment across various functions.

  • Architecture or Interior design degree (or equivalent), with 5-8 years’ experience as design team lead within a design agency or retail brand environment.
  • Excellent awareness of the field & the competitor landscape.
  • Solid experience of retail & concept design with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent understanding of detailing, value engineering and knowledge in use of materials for interior/ exterior architecture.
  • Excellent communications skills, fluent English a must; awareness of cultural differences a +.
  • Structured, organized, collaborative and team spirited.
  • Pro-active and resilient, very strong at time and project management.
  • Software skills to include AutoCAD, Sketchup, V-Ray & Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Ability to travel.
